The Volunteer Fire Department of San Leon, Texas was called to the Robinson Docks on Dickinson Bayou early on Monday evening to battle an engine room fire onboard a tugboat. As a result of the confined conditions, the fire burned hot and spread quickly to the ship’s deck, nearly overcoming two volunteer firefighters in the process. Crews decided to pull back and the fire was finally extinguished with the aid of a pumper truck. No deaths or injuries were reported.
